New record coming soon(er or later)

Hi everybody,

after a few months of struggling (changed three houses in the last 12 months), finally I have a new studio (some pictures are coming soon), a new digital workstation and I'm working on the next record.

The track list is ready, now is time to refine the compositions, arrange and record. As usual, I'm doing it "all by myself": although sometimes alienating, it allows me to refine, shape and craft every note, every color and every nuance of the sound I'm producing, to make it exactly as it sounds in my head.

It's a tough job (I've spent the last 3 months over a 5 minutes song) but extremely rewarding, and the tools that I have now are way more powerful and realistic than ever - it's a true blessing to produce music nowadays, when you can pack the sound of a real piano or a real drum kit inside a single hard disc and play it with almost no latency.

About the new tracks: there will be some funky stuff, some "Yellowjackets style" jazz-fusion, some solo piano, some instrumental rock and (surprise surprise) you're gonna hear my voice...
I hope I'll be able to publish it at the end of 2012, but I have no deadlines - I'm willing to take all the time I need to make it the best I can.

For updates, check back on the website or connect with Facebook, that's the best way to keep in touch with me and my music!

Best,
Pietro

in the mix...

Last week I mixed a great tune for Mr. Eric Block at Indabamusic.com. The song is called "Fireflies" and you can take a listen here.

Very busy in rearranging and remixing some of my old repertoire for a background music opportunity. I really hope it will pay back someday!

Runner up!

jazziz magazine
I placed second in a competition held by JAZZIZ (one of the main Jazz magazines in the USA), I'll be featured in the online edition with the tune "Seven Days", from my latest record "Morning". This was a great surprise for me, and a huge opportunity to reach an amazingly wide jazz audience.
I'll be updating this article as soon as the edition will be published!

For those who are going to be in Venice in may, I've scheduled some concerts in the LIVE section. Stay tuned!
